Understanding List Processing Order
Netsweeper provides multiple levels of lists to ensure flexibility for your deployment needs. This article explains the order in which each type of list is processed.
Types of Lists and Their Functions
Netsweeper provides different types of lists, each with specific functions, to filter users in a single group, multiple groups, or all groups.
A System-Wide List applies filtering globally to all groups and policies. These rules are always processed first to ensure their system-wide application.
Local Lists are used to apply rules to a specific policy. If no System-Wide rule is found, the Policy Service checks for Local List rules.
Shared Lists can be applied across multiple policies. If no System-Wide or Local List rules are found, the Policy Service checks for Shared List rules.
If the Policy Service does not find any applicable list rules, it will refer to the Category Rules to determine the outcome
